the percussion of church bells does mark it Christmas eve the carolers in the street, the magic they now weave cookies, still oven hot, the rum spiked eggnog, all frothy it’s snowed all day long now the windows are frosty holly festoons the old mantle of the living room fireplace we’ve dressed the tree; the nativity provides some loving grace ribbon candy in crystal bowls sends me a memory pang one securing knot and the wreath is begging to hang icicles drip along the eaves, colored lights glow in between you-unwrapping my Christmas gift would complete this holiday scene © tlp 2009 Konstantin, wave a piece of cheese under the nose of a mouse ... I had to try it. I used your same prompts (in alphabetic order) and I'm here to tell you this sounds a lot easier than it is. I didn't know if rhyme was mandatory or not, so I did. Sort of. The restrictions really narrow down the options. I won't call it my best work by any standards, but at least I tried a new form. It does stretch a self.
