A Lesson of a little or no value
A young upstart scholar asks his guru Pray tell me Sir, which one is true The Vedas or Bible, in their lessons they impart Which one shall I, take into my heart. Tell me how Creation came into being? Is god really there, all Unseeing? Tell me, what is the secret of death? Can we overcome it, with all our faith? How from the cycle of birth and death, to be free? and achieve oblivion to slowly merge with the "He" Are we scholars entitled to a special place? separated from the ones, who are but a disgrace. *** With a benign smile, his guru replied that a lot of questions, is burning in your inside While in a mango garden, just eat the mangoes and leave Do not run for other things like, the tree has how many leaves? Nor does the tree separates a good mango from a bad For they're both her part, so she is neither happy or sad Lastly if you just savor their taste, you answers will come sooner When you stop worrying about, who is the garden's owner.
