A Letter To The Grave

I think about you In all the times it's inconvenient You sit perched on the brink Of my pool of tears And dip your toes in the pale colorless water From time to time I think of the words you left for me The words I’ll never hear you say now The words I’ve dreamt of I was someone’s choice And not just someone but you But how I see you now is Tainted I see your brains spilled out across the bed I think of the notes you left Not for me Because your words belonged to him Or so I'm told The notes dripped in bruises and black eyes And to look you in that black eye Puts the blood on my hands I think about you But it's different now Because I don't look to see what brooch you've worn But instead I wonder Which was drenched in blood?
