A New Dawn
The morning chorus heralds the spring, Oh! can the World itself redeem? Above, I hear a blackbird sing - But the rooks now screech and scream! And there, I see, across the lawn, Leafy shadows towards me stretch; A view serene it is at dawn - But the rooks still scream and screech! A world so plagued by Covid* dire – But spring has come – unbeknown! With trust and hope for all inspire? But back I look – the rooks have flown! 26 April 2021 *The word ’Covid’ could be replaced by Brexit, ISIS, or by any other of many relevant nasties…..

Love creativity - especially writing - poems especially. Love my wife, cats, our church, reading, warm weather (so rare here!) and snow - quite common these days - even in spring....
