a new morning
As dusk settles in and the sunlight Throws its last rays accross the mountain tops The sheer wonder of this sight Makes me once again aware of my inferiority Some say its all thanks to evolution That in "survival" of the fittest Man proved to be the one unbeaten and yet it is my own humanity that shames me now I see the evidence of a greater elevation. In the giving of life and in the taking of it In how little control we truly have And how God created it all Now as the nightwind steals today The stars and moon light up the sky and we have a greater debt to repay I know at least this as i look up at the nightsky And as the new day day finds me waking AS the bird do each morning Singing praise to its creator i gather gladly that He guids us to a new morning
