a price for a smile

A tangled thought was forced to succumb As hope flew back to heaven That this life is already done And I'd given all I'd given Though i don't know a direction now I'll survive and try to smile The untimely death of the nightingale By Venus's bloody hands The mangled wretch concealed a smile As she cast her chains Shackled unto a forlorn one Accidentally shot by her own son I break the shackles and drag the chains Place the nightingale in a shallow grave I do not know what more remains For a single raven will gladly boast That he could conquer heaven's host if he could but find the door (But I'm still here) I'll find another nightingale The raven ignore A sweet song and cool balm To inspire and restore Though i don't know a direction now I glimpsed the mangled wretch's smile.
