A Secret Kept
Everyday she tries to smile, pretending that her life's worthwhile She tries so hard to keep her cool, when she's treated like a fool She puts on a mask to hide the pain, and walks through the world feeling ashamed She never knows what will come next, she fears her secrects cannot be kept She needs some one to make it okay, before she completly loses her way But they just turn their backs to her, leaving her broken, bleeding for sure She been let down all those times, when non one wanted to see the signs So each and everyday, her self-esteem slips away Feeling the pain from being unloved, she lets herself slip from above And when she dies, so will her lies finally letting herself fly The stranger gone with the anger, that day when no one tried to save her.
