A thank you to poets

When I read poetry my mind goes away and just for a moment again it’s at play In the world you create, with me in mind I travel, knowing, there’s treasure to find Seeking these marvels I go on my way you there to keep me from going astray With lines and verses you guide me along to show me emotions and where they belong Divulging the secrets of worlds so bizarre and capturing beauty in the faintest of stars I’m there when you detonate the violent explosion, the adrenaline rush of creative emotion I’m there when you’re fighting for life on the floor, the razor glinting, the bloody gore I’m there in the shadows when you’re being attacked When hope is lost and you’re world turns black But for now, it has ended, my journey abroad Each moment a treasure I cannot afford Thank you for sharing your world with me the moment you created for my mind to be free Thank you for sharing this wonderful sight My imagination has wings now, so it can take flight But most of all, I’m thankful for this You’ve once again shown me that love does exist.
