A tribute to love

·hellfire

As devilish midday sun beats down on a lonely figure of crooked bend like those with golden steps and shimmering silver hair I pass him by Say a silent prayer Memories of my own father To the one with not so silver hair As sweat starts to break from bended blue collar’s brow Running down arms to rusted pick axe Piecing fertile ground, I spot A smile with every blow as the memories overflow in spite of harsh realities and chances missed Still he smiles with every blow Memories of baby kisses before the daily grind I can not help but to admire the resilience of a man with troubled past As hard as he was yet under the spell of starry eyes, delicate soft hands His marbled façade turns to putty as she smiles He knows of a place where love lingers still Where he walks alongside heroes and dragon slayers He has found his place amongst the stars right here on earth….
