a wonder 
 
at the crack of dusk 
the day snaps shut, 
you occupy my mind. 
thoughts of you 
take over. 
metallic blue dragonfly, 
moon rays, you, 
smooth, water-worn stones, 
dark chocolate 
cherry kisses and stars 
from my lips to yours, 
dappled sunlight falls 
on our skin, illuminates 
your face above mine 
and you fill me, 
with yourself. 
as i fear you will leave 
my orbit, apologies 
pull you back, 
you are hesitant, 
i blame you not. 
only you know why 
you stay.
