A Zimbabwean scene
The sun seeps through The summer clouds A blanket of heat Hangs in the air Green thicket Of untouched lands Flow into the horizon Balancing Rocks Beautifully smoothed Climb the sky Like stepping stones To heaven Remnants of an ancient world In search of a greater destiny Note: I visit Zim in 2003. I kept a travel journal, but never wrote any poems about it at the time. When reading through the journal and reminicing the other day, this is what came to mind.
