"Accept Me"

This is a poem I wrote based on discrimination. This poem is not about me. Have you ever felt so out of place? It's a feeling you just can't erase Everyone automatically shoots harsh looks my way From the moment I say that I'm gay Their stares cut deep into my skin It's a burning sensation that I feel from within My crying soul cannot endure the pain I feel as if i'm going to go insane Why should you feel the need to discriminate? Just because I like John but not Kate I'm just so tired of all the hate I'm a human just like you I deserve to be treated like one too Is it a crime to have a different sexual preference? It's the same thing when a guy likes a girl, what's the difference? Just like everyone else; I deserve to be happy So why can't everyone just accept me?
