This is my second attempt at translating a Russian folk song. Hope it is better this time. Verse 1: Sparks in your eyes and your poignant raw singing Make me forget everything in this world. But you are gone, and I'm falling to pieces. Only with you, life is bliss, I'm enthralled. Refrain: I wish you knew, my muse, how wretched and doleful My life’s without your songs - I wish you knew. From timid flutter to rapturous longing - I can’t escape my addiction to you. I can’t escape my affliction of you. Verse 2: Show me a sign - I’d surrender my freedom - Under your spell, at your feet, no defense. I’d endure any misfortune and torment If there was hope to revive our romance!
