African Poetry

Gathered around the bonfire I hear the sound of drums beating Instantly i'm filled with desire To the beats I hear my voice speaking Words pouring straight from my soul Clapping hands building the rhythm Adding inspiration to my flow Helping me to express my vision Moving minds and touching hearts Dreams of the future, stories from the past Celebrating this African art One with the spirits, I'm free at last From my lips the words won't stop Expressing dreams of a brighter day This is what some may call hiphop I say its poetry the African way. Just thought this would be a cool way to start a friday evening.
