After the Future (Natural Balms)
I need to tell you something. My love is real, and it has the longevity of a lifetime. I've known you for a million years. I knew you even when time stood still. Did you know that? Did you know that I've loved you, even across generations? Through wars and floods, pass kings and queens, before blood and tears? I've even loved you after the future. You are my lifeline. You have connected me with The Now. Your spirit has pulled me out of the most unforgiving waters. The audacity of you question my love's ability to go on forever, even as you intertwine our souls... Do you even know what that means? Your very essence has enveloped my soul, and warmed my chilly skin. Your love has healed my frostbite with its natural balms. Why would I ever let you go? I want to make a life with you. I want to be a wife to you. And I want to be your lover too. But you don't get it. Please. Don't turn your optimism away from us now. We have only just begun, and we are so young.

I write poems every now and then, when the weight of my own thoughts gets too heavy for my mind.
