Alien land

Cold wind and distant howls, Midst of a house, patrolled by raven and owls Antique Clock and mysterious masks Faces of hounds and stuffed ox Hanging around to decorate the walls Cloud of bats infesting the hall Spiders and rats haunting them all Thunder strikes, and hissing breeze Pulsing of clock and the planks that creak Composing a symphony; which makes me freak Clock strikes twelve, clearing the sky Moon shines bright, pouring the light I feel conscious, Awake this time. What is this place? Lot of tension in air. Slowly I walk, exploring the rooms Things seem familiar, feels home to me soon The corner piano, my rocking chair My favorite couch; I remember I swear Clearing the key covered by layers of dust I play my tune, under the light of moon Feels like I’m dreaming; Like an alien realm. The past seems murky and present goes fading What am I doing? What is this place? Far in the forest, I see moving lights Should I be scared? Or feel saved inside… The howls and barks get closer and closer The air gets colder and dark by time Hint of threat growing in air Maybe it’s a ghost, or demons of dark “Run for your life” I yelled inside Through darkness and void Into the shadows, Under the drizzling sky Away from the house, I flee outdoors Away from all, into the grassy floors Dashing so fast, I’m not sweating at all My thought kept fading, blurring my path I slip a step, sliding on ground Thrashed on a stone, with a screaming sound Distant footsteps catch up so quick… I turn numb, staring the stone The lights come alive, from burning torch Blazing fire, clearing the mist Then came few men, with hounds in leash Dogs go wild, barking madly at me But men kept searching Scanning the darkness behind me I stay frozen, reading my name Reading my tombstone, again and again…
