Almost Doesnt Count
Almost Doesn’t Count To this day I can’t put in plain words why I kept still when I knew what I felt those countless encounters, brief but impactful, its as vivid as ever, the stares, the glares the ‘almost’ touch, as I look back today, I realize almost doesn’t count years have come years have gone the memories, some of them we’ve outgrown as you can see, you and I have grown, Yeah, I should have known Though those countless messages I wrote out the window were thrown Flying off into the Peter Mokaba passages Countless poems I composed, Words hiding a secret propose, Too scared to recite in your ear; The lyrics would rot for years Silence is no longer golden Patience is no more a virtue Waiting is no wise move I should have known, i would have shown you my fears out of your place I would have spoken Then, my heart wouldn’t be broken, You were so close to me then, I almost had you, years have been ten; But, as we all know, Almost doest count
