Alone

(I'm sorry if you've already read my first draft of this poem, but I've made some changes and wondered what people think :) ) I lie in silence As shadows surround me Smothered by my abyss I’ve fallen deep into agony I am of solitude My pain is too strong to ignore So cold and alone inside Crying ‘til my eyes are sore I scream out to obscurity “How can you leave me so?” Silence as my only reply But my answer is still known He chose another girl With her is where he’ll stay I was always too clingy, I was the one to drive him away Soulless is all I am I am the one to blame Relieving myself from guilt I’m shedding crimson shame All hope has assuredly perished My passion throbs no more How I long for eternal rest My heart is a black hole So dusky in my isolation My wounds get deeper No one can save me now Darkness holds me prisoner
