Alone and Lonely

(Someone brilliant once said to me that being alone and being lonely are to totally different things.... at first I didn’t understand. He also said that the one of the things that separates the sharp from the dull was being able to tell the difference. I understand now, I understand. Thank you. This write goes out to him wherever he is, in what ever he is doing.) I stood among a thousand people today, And I was alone. Yet in this time, Not once did I feel lonely, I am different. I sat quietly in my room today, And I was alone. Though this time I felt lonely, That is the difference. To be able to feel alone, But not lonely. To be able to be alone, And feel so lonely. To know the difference, To tell them apart, To feel the yearning, Inside your heart, And to understand it, A gift you gave me, A gift I gave myself, A gift I will hold on to, For all my life. To know the difference, Is as amazing as time, Though time we must give ourselves. ( okay so it's not my best work and its a really horrible poem but its a good idea behind it lol * smile and blushes )
