Alter Ego
As I stare into the mirror The image in it looks absolutely unfamiliar He looks like horror Ready to devour. I am not who I see I’m terrified at the way he smiles This stranger seeks schadenfreude He laughs at people’s pains Very unkind, he kicks people while they are down. No, I cannot let him do these mean things. Gathering my strength to fight this evil human Not at all, he is not human He is a demon Trying to take over my personality His horrible capability Needs to cease to flow But again, he throws a blow. He has zero compassion Holding his tummy as he laughs at the unfortunate ones Screaming, “It’s alright, it’s alright” As the house in front of him burns down Hurray! He exclaimed as the poor child broke down He seems to get a boost as things destroy. He’s prowling He’s howling To take over, he is ready This alter ego needs to vanish before he takes over me. I moved closer to the mirror, staring deep in his eyes He raised his shoulders with pride Bragging on how acceptable he is than I He got carried away as he boasted Then I punched the mirror, hard And the image shattered I picked up few pieces and looked This time, I saw an exquisite creation The beautiful lady looked back at me, With a lovely smile It warmed my heart The alter ego is deceased I’m free of the freaking monstrous braggart.
