America's Very Best
America’s Very Best Fighting strong for homeland, fighting to stay free… I waken in the dreary night and wonder where you’ll be My kind and gentle little boy, who smiled and held me tight, Is out there loading bombs on planes, for they will fly tonight. His life is lived surreptitiously, quiet and wise in thought His family is the landing place, where solace can be sought How did a child so tender, with gifts of gab and peace; Be the man who pulls the trigger to watch the world decease? I know it’s in his honor, I know it is his call, To be the best at what he does to try to save us all. His morals are immovable, even if his life is laid; Six feet beneath, the vast green sod, for freedom to be paid. For now I find that little space, somewhere up in my mind, with memories of his laughter, so gentle and so kind. And in the distance I will see the quarterback so sprite Jumping over obstacles, they'll win the game tonite. I must not dwell on fear, which makes one’s mind unwind I’ll dwell on six sweet children, and fearless wife behind. You’re strong in Faith, you’re strong in trust, keep up the anthem fight And Son, just keep on fighting for all you know is right! I am a Registered Nurse.. I have loved writing for as far back as I can remember. My first writing was experienced by drawing as a child. In 7th grade I wrote a poem about Abraham Lincoln that won an award and was read on the radio in Salt Lake City....
