An Angel's Conversation
One Angel to another said "I know I shouldn't say But I could lose concentration while we stand here day on day." "Like now we stand here Angeling - tomorrow we'll be here "It's not as if we can change shifts - always these gates are near." The other Angel turned and said "Sometimes it's hard to think. "Remember if we don't stand guard, bad's in within a blink." "So I'm glad that I'm an Angel and I don't really mind. "I know we serve the Lamb and God - protecting good mankind. "I'm telling you 'cos I was there "It happened like God said. "Enthroned with fire at his feet. "He raised the quick and dead". "An Angel then chained Satan down, And threw him in a pit. So God could reign with men on earth When good deserved to sit" "That lasted just a 1000 years Then Satan was let out To play his tricks and little games And generally get about." "The second ressurrection came When good and evil fight But like before God won the war - The devil lost the fight." "Now cast into a sulphered lake for all eternity God would judge men good or bad "The good would get to see:" "Rebuilt, the New Jerusalem As high as it is wide. "The outer walls all golden And jasper walls inside." "Inside there are no churches For all there praise the Lord. "Angels, like us, guard twelve gates Set in Jerusalem's walls." "No need for bulb or candle For the Lamb and God are light. "The light of New Jerusalem Just emanates outside." "So it's good being an Angel Who stands and guards the gates. "We get to keep the evil out As well as all the hate." The other Angel then spoke up From silent thought and prayer. "Yes, we're Angels with the strength from God And we are always here." "Each day we will be tempted by all we won't abide. But made to seem like it is good So it can come inside." "So I'm glad that I'm an Angel And I don't really mind "I know we serve the Lamb and God - Protecting all mankind."
