An Island in Space

(Okay, so love poems aren't exactly my thing, but I'm trying to expand my horizons here...no puking please) Silently we rotate though the black expansive void, On a world around a blazing yellow sun, A day will someday come when all the heavens are destroyed, But our hearts will always beat as if they’re one, Though oceans lay between us; mountains, lakes and rivers wide, On this aqua colored, cloudy, glowing sphere, There on the other side awaits my distant future bride, Through this distance we must learn to persevere, But relative is distance, through the heaven’s vast supply, In a sea of space and stars we’ve all enjoyed, As together we will rotate through a dark and starry sky, On an island in a black expansive void.
