An Ode to You

Thank you for the things you’ve done For turning your back When I needed someone You have ceased to care And I don’t exist I’m like a speck of dust Or a grain of earth I am very disappointed In the way you treat me Asking me to ignore you To just let you be I’m not looking for ways to hurt you The way you think you hurt me I am just trying to find clarity Of how things should be There is no place in your heart left For me Nor is their feelings You want to share I feel so alone But I know I’ll survive When somebody does not want you It’s not the end of your life You move on And be stronger There are other people in my life Who love me and see me Who have not forgotten I’m alive Who still make me feel special Who are there when I’m down Who don’t hesitate to help me When nobody else is around I remember it clearly The love we once had It’s a pity you’ve left me Not knowing how things could have turned out so bad You give up so easily But that is perfectly okay Why would you want it any other way?
