An unremembered season

An unremembered season came as just a hint at first just a hint of the turning, the first signs of Death, decay still a miracle in the wheel of Life and its splendor Could we appreciate so little, as a season just slipped by this time of hues and blends, when green fights brown, and yellow with red smile contently waiting in line for their turn could it be Mother Nature this time took her paint box and brush to transform in colors bland and dreary all that was lush … Then could it be also that trees were shaken and tested and lost in their clinging to the earth and symbols of strength no more for breezes summoned their power, mustered all their forces, as leaves floated and tumbled, then congregating, heaps of decay feeding cycles unseen and bringing new life in Spring Still the splendor that is Fall, nature's time of maturity When man mutilates the bearers of fruit in his quest for perfection and yield, at best synonyms of greed the stark naked waving their wiry arms and fingers against a stark changing sky, paleness and glare and blur Deep blues perculate from our view ever so gently like childhood with your first kiss remember but those golden glows at sunset, memories unmatched, memories lost brilliant new colors in our foliage yellow seas stirring beneath the pale cooler dawns in the morning, and graveyard chills at night Misunderstood as Death only at the surface yet ... Life incarnate, life abundant Still our memories dear season you left untouched and unhindered, As we forget swiftly, too soon ... come each year and you slip by through the dragnet of our senses ... an unremembered season
