apprehension a single day now since the language of his seraph tread upon his chest to propel the breath that so long for granted held him up reserved his vigour but now her pillow, sodden, exuded sorrowing perfume while his head ached and the voices of the children vaporously bounded merging, melting only to be… … his own weeping in the empty home from the duvet his feet tread upon scattered garments where toes curled to clasp that delicate, scented cotton his shuddering stomach cramped he lived again her words then breathed… …inhaled the stifling fog and ambled on with hesitant dignity to a dresser… … a mirror where he saw her roll below the sheets stretching out her fingers alluring warm deprived of his presupposed intertwined enrichment he loomed with frowning fury captured lipstick from a drawer and painted upon his face a smile which fused and dissolved all those dispositions showing him the colour of his heart where a tear ran a solitary track cutting the smile in two he the smaller trembling nook and she the wide and toothy grimace he stared and stared and stared.
