Artificial Love
Artificial Love A boulevard of streaming light That is reflected in Manila bay A clock that says it is midnight As I am drinking my life away I hear the blaring jeepney horn And I hear a young girl crying I am feeling empty and forlorn As though a part of me is dying The red neon sign of a gogo bar Shining in the streetlight gloom Pulls me from Avenue Del Pilar To the odour of cheap perfume Many girls dancing on the stage A very cute one is waving at me She’s only eighteen years of age She perches herself on my knee She’s clad in the uniform bikini With a big smile upon her face She is one mercenary of Mabini In the lipstick army of disgrace She has a figure that men adore Brown eyes so large and bright She is a princess, she’s a whore And she is creature of the night Her armoury of female charms Makes my resistance drop low She clings to me with her arms And together in the night we go A motel room and a double bed A mirror is on the ceiling above Guilt is echoing inside my head During a night of artificial love
