Attention
Heed heed heed my brothers and sisters heed I plea and plead to breathe as I feel the heat Looking at our brothers being burnt alive Looking at our sisters being axed alive Children losing their lives Bafowethu I plea A lifeless body lying on the red soil that use to be brown A kid next to it with a loud cry Punching the lifeless body saying why Crying until the eyes become dry Why mama why Why daddy why Why Africa why Why Heed fellow Africans As this could have been your own Mother As this could have been your own Father As this could have been your own brother Heed fellow Africans heed Our ancestors fought for freedom Our heroes paved the way Now we choose to close is again Look at yourself full of hate Look at yourself inflicting pain Look…..Look!!... Take the mirror and Look Was this image created to make others suffer Was this image created to kill its brother Was this image created to be a blander I wonder Cane wanted to kill his brother and present him as an offering His own brother’s blood would have been shed for nothing Let’s not go back to the beginning Heed Africa heed As this is not the way to live I plea with you my brothers and sisters Let us not mock what our ancestors and heroes paved for us… Pause Pay attention Before we rip what we sawed This needs to stop
