Aurora
Moss on a log inside-out While driving a car Or while on the sidewalk Can you see the girl In the car watching The man looking at The moss on a log? It is moist and lush The bark is tough The tree is dead The season turns It gets real cold Falling water freezes Crystals hang on branches Did you go out naked To see the stars above? I saw your breath Hanging white like steam In the winter air Your toes crunched On the frosty grass You were young and curious For that is what youth is A world of possibilities Waiting to be tested And I felt sorry for you Because you were beautiful And fleeting like charm So I sat on the sideline I watched all the people Of the world repeat this I lived a thousand lives To realize one is enough And I wanted to tell you then What it means to be alive
