Autumn Ponderings

Spring, so fine and warm, is here, As in the garden now I sit; The sun is high, and all is calm, And life is great I must admit. A wondrous dream I had last night, I saw a bus so red –so chic; Claiming - to the EU we send Three-fifty million pounds a week! Written clearly ‘pon its side, ‘Fund our NHS instead’; With politicians now in charge Surely we’ll be ably led. The garden so cosy and quiet - but then - Screams and shrieks rend the air; So shocked am I – I look above - And see the rooks so angry there. A breeze so biting - a nightmare now! A chill so cutting – a reason for fear; My mind befuddled –political jinx? Untruths and myths – so many I hear. I’m so shocked that Brexiting Europe, Creates a Britain oh so dire; Confusion reigns so strongly now In government circles drenched in mire. Spring, once fine and warm, has fled, As through the window now I peer; The sun has gone, a gale now blows, Life for many - so austere.

Love creativity - especially writing - poems especially. Love my wife, cats, our church, reading, warm weather (so rare here!) and snow - quite common these days - even in spring....
