AUTUMN’S SONG Autumn leaves like a Kaleidoscope Each separate leaf As if lit from within The blue of the sky The crisp new air A Poet’s attention Is seldom surrendered The smell of the apples Which lay on the ground The excitement of change Happening all around The prelude to winter And a new season’s dawn And I love them all Every single one WordPlaya, October 2009
