Average Brown
When you look at my eyes you’ll see nothing special. An average brown like fallen leaves; Dead after a cold, hard freeze. Every now and again they might rustle a bit, brushed by a breeze of emotion. Droplets formed by morning dew, Well up and drip down, caught by the rays of the sun. But look into my eyes and you’ll find a fire. Burning with passion that begs for release. Turned towards you, but by distance restrained. You’ll look into the depths of an ocean; Quiet yet thunderous; small yet immense. Where the waters hide secrets though in brown and not blue, And silently tell of my love for you. Look into my eyes and you’ll see a light - Now radiantly bright, now flickering low. It ebbs and flows like the evening tide, This hope for you, that in my heart does abide. When you look into my eyes you’ll find there my heart. A heart full of longing and of love so real, That mere words on a paper can’t express how I feel. Look into them then, and see this, my heart, Which for you would pass gladly through the heat of the fire. And yet, those eyes don’t match the ones of the one your heart desires.
