Awake From Slumber

·Mather

As I awake I am thrown into another world One of destruction, death and anarchy Every man for himself To get along in this world And slowly I come to the realization That I am in the same world All I have done is open my eyes To the reality of what is human kind The war and corruption Is really the world we live in And the anarchy is present as well I scream in horror at what we have created This hellish place Constantly in fear Will I make it until the next day? I cannot know The year is 3067 What if our predecessors had taken care of our world? What if it was still rich with resources? It is a sad Thing indeed For we were never doomed to this It was us that created it We should have conserved But we wasted, and now we suffer the consequences
