Battles, Bloodshed And Tears #5
The plane finally landed Then Todd and Claire got off Claire said “Let’s take a cab grab a beer Sit down and talk The cab arrived they got in The driver asked “Where to ma’am?” Claire said “To this bar called Liquor Lake Step on it man!” And immediately he started driving them Towards their destination Their plans were to wash away their sorrows And take a mental vacation Although Claire did know her limits Her rule was no more than three drinks But Todd didn’t have a limit because his cancer Has affected the way that he thinks So as they were at the bar drinking Claire asked him If he would like to eat dinner with her when they check into a hotel place Todd said “Yes” and Claire said “Then stay sober I don’t want alcohol determining your fate.” They finished drinking then they checked into this hotel Called Island Of Paradise Then they went upstairs to change Into something nice Clair put on a silk, black dress Along with black high heels Todd was wearing a tuxedo with a black bowtie Like he had just made an endorsement deal They ordered room service Telling them to bring steak and barbecue sauce Along with red velvet cake Accompanied with silverware they needed lots Then they ordered wine To wash it all down Claire wore a napkin under her chin So that she wouldn’t spill any on her gown They chewed their steaks slowly To thoroughly enjoy Then they moved on to the velvet cake it was so delicious And the smell was hard to avoid As they were drinking their wine Claire was telling Todd That she wanted to go to a casino tomorrow night Then to a night club of his choice He told her that it sounded fun and it felt so right By Glenn McCrary © 2009 Glenn McCrary (All rights reserved)
