The savory song of a lingering flavor The tingling that lingers on tips of the fingers that touched a lover from another life like a kiss The high ride into realms known but unseen and whose rapturous thrill cannot be shared The deep dive into desires unspoken The piercing, wordless gaze that invades, burns through my mind to know every room at my naïve invitation The blinding light that sears away a beautiful dream, which I preferred The rude, intruding darkness that blankets the memory Of all the places I’ve been
