Before I wake
If I die before I wake May the heavenly angels guide me towards heaven’s gate Let peace be bestowed on earth as it is in heaven for mankind’s sake My heart I battle to keep in pure state, Cause this is where the angel of darkness tries to infiltrate When I walk through the valley of the shadows of death, I pray the heavenly father to walk with me For this I shall have no fear Scars of betrayal and deceit is what I constantly have to endear Father, brighten up my soul like the morning sun that shines upon the earth to make the day seem clear Console me and set my mind at ease before I even start to shed a tear Purify my heart as the wind grazes softly against my skin Love, faith, hope and compassion in my life is that which I entail A sinner in so many ways, but you judge me from within My weaknesses are building up into strengths, I can never fail Mountains are high, oceans are deep and the sky is blue So many wicked ways, so many deceitful things that cause our souls to go astray A web of cross-culture and mixed believes, but my heart remains forever true Evil eyes are laid upon me constantly Lord, save me before I go crazy! From this cruel wicked world of slavery If I wake up to a bright early morning to meet face to face with death Repentance of my life-long sins shall be my treasured last breath Ashes to ashes, dust to dust May my essence forever remain in peace And my the broken chains of happiness be restored Before my soul tires out for the eternal sleep
