Behind Emotional Bars
Written By Glenn McCrary™ & Jon T. Jeffries From inside this imprisonment I sadly stare Into the blind light Of darkness and despair At all evildoers I angrily glare And frankly to me Life is just not fair This is not what I want My life to be My soul cries out So desperate to be free Sometimes my stream of tears Turn into an open sea I am the forbidden apple That falls from the apple tree And on the outside I’m as rotten as can be But on the inside I shine With beauty and glory I didn’t intend to tell you My whole life story But I must warn you It might be a little gory What did I do to get here In the first place? When you stare at me do you see the look Of terror upon my face? My life is a disgrace I always feel like I’m being chased Sometimes I feel Like people want to spit in my face They always leave in my mouth A very bad taste They are like animals tearing away at my skin Leaving my remains to go to waste Is there hope for a better life Outside of here If there is not It will become my greatest fear So I fall down To my knees in tears And now through my heart I allow you to spear By Glenn McCrary © 2009 Glenn McCrary (All rights reserved)
