Birthday poem to myself (just for fun)

30 Mar 2010

I'm turning 35 today (30 March) and I had a little time to reflect, so I came up with this rhyme. It's not meant to be a great poem, just a tongue-in-cheek rhyme to describe my feelings on my birthday :) Here goes: happy birthday to myself it’s not time yet for that shelf don’t you see I’m not so old no time yet for me to fold perhaps I am mistaken has youth left me, forsaken I'm all yellow and sour don't tell me I look dour! or hasage made me wise so I can now apprise just who I’m meant to be can I at last be free I should celebrate, you say on this joyous, happy day I should never lose my sight of my goals, they are my right well then come and put your hand in mine don’t you see, everything will be fine let us celebrate and let us sing, this thing called life might be just your thing

"Remember that all things which happen To you are raw materials Endlessly fertile Endlessly yielding of thoughts that could change Your life and go on doing forever... So fear not, my friend The darkness is gentler than you think."
