“Black Rose!”

·The Last Poet

In the heart of Johannesburg, a shady girl lived A black rose growing in a dungeon, no light she received. Driven by nothing but Hatred her abhorrence to love grew She’s been neglected since birth, her own parents she never knew. The feeling of being ignored was the norm in her dark world Never had she shown any emotion, no one heard her utter a word And as she grew her Heart knew it was missing something. She searched her mind and tackled the books but still had no clue. Her Heart was the rose; the dungeon was her hearts shield And nothing could ever break through. Until she fell in love for the first time A strange feeling she wasn’t use to. Like the others, he never took notice Her heart, pounding with ecstasy when his eyes rolled past her She tried getting his attention ... No response... She feels that it was hopeless. His friend tossed the ball and he ran for it Bumping her over as well as knocking him off his feet. She picked up her books, but he said wait He helped her up and looked into her face. “you got beautiful eyes” he mumbled “Can i take you home?” he offered. Finlay a beam of light shun upon the black rose The first pettle turned red as emotions start to flow Her walls fell down as love was found A smile covered her face... And as she took his hand and walked The black rose was no longer around!. Done by: Angelo Hedley
