BLIND AMBITION

Don’t settle for hollow happiness Don’t muddle through this existence to muddle through another What you do have why do you treasure it more than the love you give away? What you don’t have why do you need it now? I want to look into your eyes and see endless joy that burns a memory so deep it cripples my fears I want you to look deeper than simply sliding down the surface Seek first to hear instead of criticize Treat each situation without history colored glasses Live with a freedom that surpasses all understanding Insinuation is not a jail your mind locks you in to keep you from feeling Perception is not always your reality Assumption does not always smother faith Intimidation is not a torture tactic to scare you into submission It’s a method to show you how deep this soul runs Grace is a hard pill to swallow for most How can mercy be shown for such an insincere heart who only repeats what has just been forgiven? Some people look for a reason to get out, to just let go and break away But it’s not a matter or question of where or how, it’s a matter of when a point of weakness causes unanswered questions to linger With you hanging on every word I start to question the angle and motivation of your intentions All of this consternation can drive one to see or feel what truly isn’t there But I’m here and will always be a rock Always and forever Always and now
