Blind Faith
She held his hand, frail in hers While on her knees she bent The bible was her shield And the beads her sword The one tucked under her arm , While the other she brandished With her right. Her eyes shut tight, and her lips gently moved. A solitary tear rolled awkwardley down, her once rosey cheek, And in a trance she fell. As she pleaded with her God, He silently slipped away... When she did from her trance awaken, She founnd he had been taken And all this while my questions went unanswered. Where was her Lord when he was dying? What good was her faith as i watched him , waste away before my eyes? Then i remembered she had not , Could not have seen .. For her eyes had been shut. She could not have felt as i had, While he like an unwatered rose had wilted, and all i could do was watch... Her bible shielded her from the pain, While her beads fought away the sorrow. In that instant i realised, she had not For a miracle prayed... She had asked to ease his pain. It was then that my knees gave way And by her side bent over him ... Joining her in praying for his safe return to God... In that moment, my faith I found.
