Cannot quite make it out Like through some haze in a foreign land Where the dust refuses to be heard And the sunlight screams After I dropped my dictionary Yet here it is, familiar Like your oldest friend Who sneaks into your party, Stays for days, refuses to leave Booze flowing to keep life floating This dark cloud though poisonous Brings camaraderie, Settles in with cold hugs Breeding warmth in contempt, A visit I was expecting
