BonVoyage Clair.
Bon Voyage Clair I’ve written you a poem, as a way to say goodbye, Its not because I’ll miss, It’s just to make you cry. I don’t claim to be a poet, but I thought I’d have a bash, If you don’t like what I’v written Clair, you can throw it in the trash. Your new Island life is calling, it’s a journey that you must make, We will all miss you dearly, but not as much as we’ll miss your cake. I’ll miss you hostess nature, and taking the dogs for a walk, And maybe I will even miss, how much you love to talk. And even though I’ll miss you, I understand why you must go, But does it need to be so bloody far, there are other islands you know. I hear you want an orchard, when your living by the seas, But have you stopped and wondered, why the islands don’t have trees. I wish I could come with you, to see you planting crops, And laugh as you try and harvest, in the wind that never stops. Or watch you shearing cattle, and trying to milk the sheep, It will be a busy lifestyle, I hope you don’t like sleep. The islands think they have everything, the views and land and sea, But I bet they don’t have childcare, that’s as good or cheap as me. So things are moving quickly, your head must be in a whirl, But now you’ve lived in Essex, you’ll always be an Essex girl. Now Girls with cheap mascara, should go and block your ears, Cos the next bit here is from the heart, and may bring on the tears. I hope you find all your looking for, to your heart you must be true, But the one thing you will never find, is another me and you. And I think I speak for everyone, with this last thing I have to say, That we will miss you so very much, each and every day.
