the white men to my country came they did not even ask my name but took me from my jungle home where elephants and lions roam a ship took me across the waves to be one of their nigger slaves and suffer great humiliation on the boss man’s big plantation i worked hard in the fields all day but several times I ran away they sent the dogs and I got caught each time there was a lesson taught they tried to whip me into shape and flogged me hard for each escape they said ‘if one more time you flee you’ll dangle from the big oak tree’ the slave girl came into my life i would have liked her for my wife pretty face and shapely figure boss man he say ‘hey there nigger’ whose that girl that you have there i have not yet had my fair share’ he dragged away my lovely one took her arm and they were gone she came back tearful and defiled the boss man looked at me and smiled and gave a condescending wave he said ‘you are one lucky slave your girl here, she is good in bed’ i grabbed his gun and shot him dead and now i will be hanged at dawn because i’m just a nigger born they stole me from my native land to do whatever they demand they skin my back most every day the boss man had a cruel way he raped the girl to be my wife now they going to take my life i pray the lord will treat me well and boss man burns in fiery hell
