Breaking Summer
And breaking through the ices deep the suns rays falland blesses kind The shivering mortals wake from sleep To opening buds, slow, young and blind. Soshaking off the ice and frost I watch the lonely flower bloom. I hide my mask, beneath it lost My eyes in caves of blackened tomb. Then proudly whenit darereveal The hearth inside the velvet case I unintentionally conceal Myselffrom its delicate face. I break the neck, rip off the head, So from the precious hearth it bled. I leave it resting in its bed So winter carries on instead.
