breathe

slipping, sliding slowly down until at last i reach the ground and from there then i start back up hoping now i'll reach the top i've stumbled and struggled through forests of pain only to come out in the pouring rain i grope and i grapple to find my way stumbling and struggling from day to day i do not know why my life feels so hollow for my life is normal; like all men i follow like sheep we are; a flock of men from-home-to-work- and-back-again and so, i thank my lucky stars that my love is there to strip away my pains and fears and lift me up to breathe the air
