Broken Rhyme

I want to say I love you, I know that’s what you want to hear too But is it really true After all these years of being together Are we still lovers? Are we still friends? When we were younger life was full of hope Now as life takes us through its course This relationship seems to hang by a thin rope We take each other’s presence for granted Often we have no kind words to share Lost in our own worlds, we are hardly there Its seems as if we do not care When everything seems on the edge I feel like going back on my eternal pledge Thinking I cannot be with you Your words hurt more than your actions do I feel, I cannot take it anymore But something stops me every time Maybe it’s the pain in your brown eyes Maybe it’s the love you show sometimes Maybe it’s your kisses when they envelop my face Maybe it’s your warm tight embrace Maybe it’s just the comfort of your existence Maybe it’s the security of your presence Maybe it’s the smell of your cologne Maybe it’s how I can still sleep in your arms Maybe its because of your trust in me Maybe its all those sweet memories Or maybe its every one of these things That makes me want to stay and say…. I will love you till the end of time but the only way I can ever express it is through this broken rhyme.
