Bruise
Bruise Broken fragments Of a bruised but beating heart As it stutters and falters Under the crushing pain The eyes taking it all in Agony washing in waves Each current stronger Than the impossible last She shouldn't look As she already knows That it just may kill her After all, how much pain Should one heart be expected To take and continue to beat Give up, give up it speaks With each and every pound But like a magnet It draws her in And keeps her there To continue it's assault On her fragile heart And fading spirit Her breathing slows As her will slips away Through her open fingers With no attempt To stop it from leaving As her heart slows
