Butterflies

I wrote this a long time ago, for the first girl that I ever believed I might be in love with. I'll leave it at that. Enjoy. This is how we live our lives, Down to Earth, yet up so high, The world tears us apart, and yet we try. I’m so glad that you are mine, I simply don’t have the time, To spend all day getting lost in your eyes. Every time that I‘m with you, You give me butterflies, And it gets so hard just to leave your side. I see the summers yet to be, I see pictures of you and me, I see the days we have yet to spend. I see the sad, rainy days, But wipe all those tears away, The rest of our life is just around the bend. I see the sleepless nights that we spend Wishing we could be, Together like we are in our dreams. When we fall asleep… I get so lonely when your gone, The time we’re apart feels like so long… Why does this time go by so fast? Why do these moments never last? Late at night we feel so sad Because the short time we had Has just gone by and we’re all alone. But we both know deep inside, No matter how hard they try, To keep us apart, your heart still feels like home. Sometimes I don’t know what to do When I think I might lose you It’s hard to say goodbye to you, when it’s time to leave… Because when I’m with you, my heart is free…
