and as the glorious light cascaded through the tainted windows beating the stale air as I bask within its shiny coat for that fleeting moment I ignored the slave driver as I devoured a morsel from his table that fell between the dust on the marbled floor succumbed to my faint-beating heart the failing memories that eluded me for so long when I embraced this unwritten contract of misery ignored the fine print by reason of insanity I wished that I could revoke the hands of time itself…
